In the Khorezm region, significant results are being achieved in unlocking the region’s tourism potential. A vivid testimony to this is the fact that the number of foreign tourists visiting the region has increased 30 times compared to seven or eight years ago. Thanks to positive developments in the sector, the region’s export of tourism services grew from $7 million in 2017 to $380 million last year.

Previously, when speaking about tourism in the region, most people associated it only with Ichan-Kala. However, in recent years, this perception has changed: more than forty new tourist routes have been developed, bringing the total number of routes to one hundred.

Now, another unique attraction has appeared here — the "Arda Khiva" tourist complex, whose opening became a significant event during the President’s visit to the Khorezm region.

The complex is like a city within the ancient city. It is a unique project with architectural solutions that combine historical motifs and modern forms.

The center was built on 25 hectares of previously low-yield, saline land. One side of the complex faces Lake Govuk, which covers 150 hectares, and green zones are being created around it — making the location even more attractive for tourists.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev toured the complex, inspected the construction sites, exhibitions of folk crafts and applied arts, as well as the rows of the eastern bazaar.

All necessary conditions have been created for tourists here. Twenty hotels in the style of an ancient city have been built, offering a total of 1,000 beds; a water park, amusement rides, a 3,000-seat amphitheater, and a musical fountain have been opened.

Additionally, visitors will be interested in 11 craft houses built in a historical style, an eastern market, and the "Ancient Urgench" museum. Another highlight is the opportunity to enjoy gondola rides along a two-kilometer-long canal.

The complex also includes five cinemas and concert halls, numerous restaurants, a jewelry center, shopping rows, a jet ski area, and a spacious parking lot. A centralized heating and cooling system has been created for all facilities, and electricity is provided by solar panels.

The complex is designed to accommodate up to 3 million visitors annually and will create more than 2,000 jobs.

If Ichan-Kala is the historical face of Khiva, then Arda Khiva is becoming its modern calling card.

During his visit to the complex, the Head of State also met with the youth of Khorezm.

magnificent monuments that have served the people for centuries. We must use this wealth for the benefit of our country. Much has already been done, but there are even greater tasks ahead. I believe in you, the youth. If you strive for great heights, pursue knowledge, and master modern professions — we will certainly achieve our goals," President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized.

During the conversation, the successes of young people in their studies, their dreams, and their aspirations were discussed.
